# Donaldjohanson

*In the Solar System*

A main-belt asteroid about eight kilometres long, here because Lucy flew past it in April 2025 as a rehearsal for the Trojan asteroids it is really going to. It turned out to be two bodies stuck together at a narrow neck, and the flyby is the reason the photograph on this card exists at all. It is named after the palaeontologist who found the fossil Lucy, which is what the spacecraft is named after.
