# Jupiter

*In the Solar System*

The largest planet: more than twice the mass of everything else in orbit around the Sun combined, and eleven Earths across. It is hydrogen and helium with no surface to land on, banded by winds that run for centuries - the Great Red Spot is a storm wider than the Earth that has been watched for some 190 years and is shrinking. Its 90-odd moons include Ganymede, larger than Mercury, and Europa, whose ice covers an ocean.
