# Quaoar

*In the Solar System*

A large Kuiper belt object about half Pluto's width, here for its size, with a moon called Weywot - and, since 2023, two rings. They are the reason it is interesting: they sit far outside the distance at which a ring is supposed to collapse into a moon, which means the rule everybody used is missing something. The rings were found the way almost everything out here is found, by watching a star blink out behind it.
