# Ryugu

*In the Solar System*

A near-Earth asteroid under a kilometre across, here because Hayabusa2 spent a year and a half at it, fired a projectile into it to expose material the Sun had never touched, and brought 5.4 grams of it back to Australia in December 2020. The samples turned out to hold amino acids and water-bearing minerals - the case that this kind of rock delivered the ingredients of life to the early Earth is now made of pieces somebody can hold.
