# Steins

A small bright asteroid cut like a gemstone - the shape is real, and ESA said so at the time - photographed by Rosetta in September 2008 on the first of its two asteroid passes. It is here for the visit. The crater at its south pole is nearly half the width of the whole body, which for something this size is close to the limit of what it could survive.
