OrbitalMap a live chronicle of orbit

In the Solar System

16 Psyche

One of the largest asteroids, here for its size, and the most peculiar of them: radar and density say it is largely metal rather than rock, which one reading makes the exposed core of a body whose outer layers were stripped off in a collision. NASA's Psyche spacecraft is on its way and arrives in 2029, so this is one of the few entries here that will be rewritten by something other than a telescope.

Everything the map shows is worked out in your browser from published orbital data - nothing on it is a stored picture of where things were.
